Jenny Jump State Forest is a state park in the U.S. state of New Jersey operated by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Parks and Forestry. It is 4,239 acres (17 km²) in area, located in northwestern New Jersey, in northern Warren County, south of Hope Township, on the northwest flank and south end of 1,112-foot (339 m) Jenny Jump Mountain — a 6-mile (10 km) long ridge.
The park has extensive hiking trails on the mountainside, featuring large glacial boulders and outcroppings from the Wisconsin glaciation approximately 21,000 years ago.
It is said that the park was named after an Indian chasing a girl named Jenny, who jumped to her death on Jenny Jump Mountain.

Famous quotes containing the words jump, state and/or forest:
“Holy Rollers and Jumpers come out,
And they holler, they jump and they shout,”
—Joe Hill (18791914)
“The law of nature is alternation for evermore. Each electrical state superinduces the opposite. The soul environs itself with friends, that it may enter into a grander self-acquaintance or solitude; and it goes alone for a season, that it may exalt its conversation or society.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“I am as brown as brown can be,
And my eyes as black as sloe;
I am as brisk as brisk can be,
And wild as forest doe.”
—Unknown. The Brown Girl (l. 14)
