Possible Arabian Queen
The Christian theologian John Gill, notes that Jemima may mean either "day" or "dove", the latter on association with the Arabic word "jemama". Noting that there is a land in Arabia with the name Jemama or Yemama (see Al-Yamama) which had a queen called Jemama, he conjectures that the Biblical Jemima may be connected with the Jamama of Arabic folklore.

“O animal excellence,
Take pterodactyl flight
Fire-winged into the air
And find your lair

“If it were worth while to argue a paradox, one might maintain that nature regards the female as the essential, the male as the superfluity of her world. Perhaps the best starting-point for study of the Virgin would be a practical acquaintance with bees, and especially with queen bees.”
—Henry Brooks Adams (18381918)
