Jamie Theakston - Education

Education

He then attended BHASVIC in Hove, followed by the University of North London, where he studied for a degree in business studies. Whilst at university, he read traffic bulletins on BBC GLR as he wanted to get into sports reporting.

Famous quotes containing the word education:

If factory-labor is not a means of education to the operative of to-day, it is because the employer does not do his duty. It is because he treats his work-people like machines, and forgets that they are struggling, hoping, despairing human beings.
    Harriet H. Robinson (1825–1911)

Quintilian [educational writer in Rome around A.D. 100] thought that the earliest years of the child’s life were crucial. Education should start earlier than age seven, within the family. It should not be so hard as to give the child an aversion to learning. Rather, these early lessons would take the form of play—that embryonic notion of kindergarten.
    C. John Sommerville (20th century)

I am not describing a distant utopia, but the kind of education which must be the great urgent work of our time. By the end of this decade, unless the work is well along, our opportunity will have slipped by.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
