Jacob's Ladder is a 1990 American psychological horror film directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Peña, and Danny Aiello. The story centers around Vietnam veteran Jacob Singer, whose experiences both prior to and during the war have resulted in strange flashbacks and hallucinations that continue to haunt him in his everyday life. Though neither a critical or financial success upon release, the film has garnered a cult following and was a major source of inspiration for the Silent Hill media franchise.
