Italianization

Italianization

Italianization (Italian: Italianizzazione; Croatian: potalijanĨavanje; Slovene: poitaljanĨevanje; German: Italianisierung) was a process organized by the Kingdom of Italy to force cultural and ethnic assimilation of the native minority populations living in the former Austro-Hungarian territories that were "given" to Italy in exchange for their joining an alliance with the United Kingdom in World War I. This process was conducted during the Fascism, between 1922 and 1943.
