Imams
There are one grand imam, one deputy of grand imam, and seven imams in Istiqlal Mosque. The Grand Imam is Prof. Kyai al-Hajj Ali Musthafa Ya'qub, M. A., Ph. D. He is the chairman of Darus Sunnah Hadis Research Institute in Ciputat, South Jakarta. The Deputy of Grand Imam is Drs. al-Hajj Syarifuddin Muhammad, M. M.
