Intrinsically Unstructured Proteins - Disorder Prediction Software

Disorder Prediction Software

There are many computational methods that exploit sequence information to predict whether a protein is disordered. Notable examples of such software include IUPRED and Disopred. Different software may use different definitions of disorder. Since the methods above use different definitions of disorder and they were trained on different datasets, it is difficult to estimate their relative accuracy. Disorder prediction category is a part of biannual CASP experiment that is designed to test methods according accuracy in finding regions with missing 3D structure (marked in PDB files as REMARK465).

Famous quotes containing the words disorder and/or prediction:

The doctor found, when she was dead,
    Her last disorder mortal.
    Oliver Goldsmith (1728–1774)

Recent studies that have investigated maternal satisfaction have found this to be a better prediction of mother-child interaction than work status alone. More important for the overall quality of interaction with their children than simply whether the mother works or not, these studies suggest, is how satisfied the mother is with her role as worker or homemaker. Satisfied women are consistently more warm, involved, playful, stimulating and effective with their children than unsatisfied women.
    Alison Clarke-Stewart (20th century)
