After I-585 goes over SC 9, US 29 and US 176 at its southern terminus in Downtown Spartanburg. The route the route continues as Business Spur 585 a surface street, and terminates at its junction with SC 9 and US 29 and US 176. This street was formerly the eastern part of the Freeway that continues westward from the junction of SC 9, US 29 and US 176. Although Business 585 travels toward the southbound from the I-585 terminus, it is still signed north–south, corresponding with I-585.
