Interstate 580 (Nevada)
Interstate 580 (I-580) is an Interstate Highway in northwestern Nevada. It runs concurrently with U.S. Highway 395 (US 395) from Interstate 80 in Reno, to the east leg of US 50 in Carson City. From the east leg of US 50 to Fairview Drive in Carson City, the freeway is co-signed US 50 and US 395. Although the freeway has existed with the I-580 designation since the 1960s, until the portion between Reno and Carson City was complete in 2012, the freeway was signed only as US 395. I-580 is not complete, the final phase between Fairview Drive in Carson City and U.S. Route 50 has been postponed several times with an uncertain completion date.

Famous quotes containing the word interstate:
“At bottom, I mean profoundly at bottom, the FBI has nothing to do with Communism, it has nothing to do with catching criminals, it has nothing to do with the Mafia, the syndicate, it has nothing to do with trust-busting, it has nothing to do with interstate commerce, it has nothing to do with anything but serving as a church for the mediocre. A high church for the true mediocre.”
—Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
