Interstate 49

Interstate 49 (I-49) is currently an intrastate Interstate Highway located entirely within the state of Louisiana in the southern United States. Its southern terminus is in Lafayette, at Interstate 10 while its northern terminus is in Shreveport, at Interstate 20. This will change on December 12, 2012 when the I-49 designation is officially approved for upgraded US-71 between Kansas City, Missouri and Joplin, Missouri. Portions of the remaining roadway, which will link Kansas City with New Orleans are in various stages of planning or construction.

Famous quotes containing the word interstate:

At bottom, I mean profoundly at bottom, the FBI has nothing to do with Communism, it has nothing to do with catching criminals, it has nothing to do with the Mafia, the syndicate, it has nothing to do with trust-busting, it has nothing to do with interstate commerce, it has nothing to do with anything but serving as a church for the mediocre. A high church for the true mediocre.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
