Criticism
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has criticized Universal Music Group for overcharging for his album Year Zero in Australia. When he asked why it was so much, they replied "you've got a core audience that's gonna buy whatever we put out, so we can charge more for that True fans will pay whatever". Nine Inch Nails is now a part of their own record label The Null Corporation and no longer associates with Interscope.
In late 2011, rappr 50 Cent engaged in a feud with Interscope stating that, "Not everyone is not committed to releasing my new album." referencing his yet to be released, fifth studio album. This album, titled Street King Immortal, is set to be released in November 2012.

Famous quotes containing the word criticism:
“I consider criticism merely a preliminary excitement, a statement of things a writer has to clear up in his own head sometime or other, probably antecedent to writing; of no value unless it come to fruit in the created work later.”
—Ezra Pound (18851972)
“Unless criticism refuses to take itself quite so seriously or at least to permit its readers not to, it will inevitably continue to reflect the finicky canons of the genteel tradition and the depressing pieties of the Culture Religion of Modernism.”
—Leslie Fiedler (b. 1917)
“People try so hard to believe in leaders now, pitifully hard. But we no sooner get a popular reformer or politician or soldier or writer or philosophera Roosevelt, a Tolstoy, a Wood, a Shaw, a Nietzsche, than the cross-currents of criticism wash him away. My Lord, no man can stand prominence these days. Its the surest path to obscurity. People get sick of hearing the same name over and over.”
—F. Scott Fitzgerald (18961940)
