Membership
The ICSID has 159 member states which have signed the center's convention. Of these member states, 148 are contracting member states which have deposited instruments of ratification. The ICSID's former members are Bolivia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. All ICSID contracting member states, whether or not they are parties to a given dispute, are required by the ICSID Convention to recognize and enforce ICSID arbitral awards.
