Interactome

Interactome

In molecular biology an Interactome is defined as the whole set of molecular interactions in cells. Specifically it means physical interactions among molecules but can also mean indirect interactions among genes, i.e. genetic interactions. It is generally displayed as an undirected graph. The word "interactome" was originally coined in 1999 by a group of French scientists headed by Bernard Jacq. The term interactome is partly synonymous with biological network.
