Inner City (Budapest)
Inner City (Hungarian: Belváros; German: Innenstadt) is part of the historic old town of Pest. Today it is a part of the 5th District of Budapest, Hungary. Budapest's main shopping street, Váci utca ("Váci Street"), is located there, as is a large part of the city's commercial life, banks and travel agencies. Many tourists start sightseeing there.
In a broader sense, the city centre of Budapest is bordered by the Grand Boulevard on Pest side of the city. In Buda, it is bordered by the continuation of Grand Boulevard by Margit körút, Krisztina körút, Budaörsi út and Bocskai út. The inner city area comprises the 5th, 6th, 7th districts and areas of the 8th, 9th and 13th districts on the Pest side of the Danube, while in Buda the 1st, 2nd, 11th and a small part of 12th district make up the city centre.

Famous quotes containing the word city:
“I dont wanna live in a city where the only cultural advantage is that you can make a right turn on a red light.
Freedom from labor itself is not new; it once belonged among the most firmly established privileges of the few. In this instance, it seems as though scientific progress and technical developments had been only taken advantage of to achieve something about which all former ages dreamed but which none had been able to realize.”
—Hannah Arendt (19061975)
