There is an international federation dedicated to promoting this sport: the Federacion Internacional de Futbol Rapido (FIFRA) based in Mexico. To this day, the FIFRA organizes international tournaments with the participation of several countries.

Famous quotes containing the words the world, indoor, soccer and/or world:

    One of the last of the philosophers,—Connecticut gave him to the world,—he peddled first her wares, afterwards, as he declares, his brains. These he peddles still, prompting God and disgracing man, bearing for fruit his brain only, like the nut its kernel.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    As a man grows older, his ability to sit still and follow indoor occupations increases. He grows vespertinal in his habits as the evening of life approaches, till at last he comes forth only just before sundown, and gets all the walk that he requires in half an hour.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    We want beans, not goals.
    —Mexican steelworkers’ banner at opening ceremony of 1986 World Cup soccer championship.

    Yes, Heaven is thine; but this
    Is a world of sweets and sours;
    Our flowers are merely—flowers,
    And the shadow of thy perfect bliss
    Is the sunshine of ours.
    Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849)
