- Actress Ann Atmar committed suicide twelve days before the film's premiere.
- The daughter of actress Eloise Hardt was kidnapped and murdered.
- William Shatner's third wife drowned in a pool.
- Director Leslie Stevens and actress Allyson Ames divorced, and Stevens' production company, Daystar Productions, went bankrupt.

Famous quotes containing the word curse:
“There are lone figures armed only with ideas, sometimes with just one idea, who blast away whole epochs in which we are enwrapped like mummies. Some are powerful enough to resurrect the dead. Some steal on us unawares and put a spell over us which it takes centuries to throw off. Some put a curse on us, for our stupidity and inertia, and then it seems as if God himself were unable to lift it.”
—Henry Miller (18911980)
“You know, what I very well know, that I bought you. And I know, what perhaps you think I dont know, you are now selling yourselves to somebody else; and I know, what you do not know, that I am buying another borough. May Gods curse light upon you all: may your houses be as open and common to all Excise Officers as your wifes and daughters were to me, when I stood for your scoundrel corporation.”
—Anthony Henley (d. 1745)
“Thats why Ive come to you, to seek release from a curse of misery and horror against which Im powerless to fight alone.”
—Edward T. Lowe. Erle C. Kenton. Count Dracula (John Carradine)
