Famous quotes containing the words improvement, animal and/or testing:

We are more thoroughly an enlightened people, with respect to our political interests, than perhaps any other under heaven. Every man among us reads, and is so easy in his circumstances as to have leisure for conversations of improvement and for acquiring information.
    Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790)

An animal can learn to fight, but to sing beautiful things and make people believe them....
    Dalton Trumbo (1905–1976)

Traditional scientific method has always been at the very best 20-20 hindsight. It’s good for seeing where you’ve been. It’s good for testing the truth of what you think you know, but it can’t tell you where you ought to go.
    Robert M. Pirsig (b. 1928)
