In 1904, several Igorot were brought to St. Louis, Missouri, United States of America. They constructed the Igorot Village in the Philippine Exposition section of the 1904 World's Fair, which became one of the most popular exhibits. The poet T. S. Famous quotes containing the words notable and/or events:

Every notable advance in technique or organization has to be paid for, and in most cases the debit is more or less equivalent to the credit. Except of course when it’s more than equivalent, as it has been with universal education, for example, or wireless, or these damned aeroplanes. In which case, of course, your progress is a step backwards and downwards.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)

Turn where we may, within, around, the voice of great events is proclaiming to us, Reform, that you may preserve!
    Thomas Babington Macaulay (1800–1859)
