Current Organization
The current organization links together many different projects and technologies working on various legal, policy and social aspects of identity on the web. Member groups include the Internet Identity Workshop, OpenID Foundation, Information Card Foundation, Data Portability Project, OSIS OSIS interoperability efforts, ProjectVRM and Vendor Relationship Management.
The community and organization is focused on creating a commons where the challenges of user-centric identity can be solved rather than driving toward a particular solution. It is a purpose and principle-driven organization.

“Science, unguided by a higher abstract principle, freely hands over its secrets to a vastly developed and commercially inspired technology, and the latter, even less restrained by a supreme culture saving principle, with the means of science creates all the instruments of power demanded from it by the organization of Might.”
