National or Subnational Bodies

National and sub-national human rights commissions have been established in a number of countries for the promotion and protection of their citizens' human rights, and most commissions are public bodies but with some degree of independence from the state. Famous quotes containing the words national and/or bodies:

The word which gives the key to the national vice is waste. And people who are wasteful are not wise, neither can they remain young and vigorous. In order to transmute energy to higher and more subtle levels one must first conserve it.
    Henry Miller (1891–1980)

Our souls belong to our bodies, not our bodies to our souls.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)
