Contemporary Usage
In the song "We Can Get Together" on the album Heaven is Whenever, The Hold Steady sing "she said Heavenly were cool, I think they were from Oxford." The song also directly references Matthew Fletcher's suicide with the line "He wasn't just the drummer he was the singer's younger brother".

Famous quotes containing the words contemporary and/or usage:
“That nameless and infinitely delicate aroma of inexpressible tenderness and attentiveness which, in every refined and honorable attachment, is contemporary with the courtship, and precedes the final banns and the rite; but which, like the bouquet of the costliest German wines, too often evaporates upon pouring love out to drink, in the disenchanting glasses of the matrimonial days and nights.”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
“I am using it [the word perceive] here in such a way that to say of an object that it is perceived does not entail saying that it exists in any sense at all. And this is a perfectly correct and familiar usage of the word.”
—A.J. (Alfred Jules)
