Death

Warner died on December 27, 1958 from a cerebral occlusion. Some people close to Harry, however, believed he died of a broken heart; Harry's wife Rea even stated, after Harry's funeral took place, that "he didn't die, Jack killed him." He was entombed at Home of Peace Cemetery in the same mausoleum as Charles Vidor.

For his contributions to the motion picture industry, Harry Warner has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6441 Hollywood Boulevard.

Famous quotes containing the word death:

I used to think of death ... like I suppose soldiers think of it: it was a possible thing that I could well avoid by my skill.
    Stendhal [Marie Henri Beyle] (1783–1842)

Some say that gleams of a remoter world
Visit the soul in sleep,—that death is slumber,
And that its shapes the busy thoughts outnumber
Of those who wake and live.—
    Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)

Every American, to the last man, lays claim to a “sense” of humor and guards it as his most significant spiritual trait, yet rejects humor as a contaminating element wherever found. America is a nation of comics and comedians; nevertheless, humor has no stature and is accepted only after the death of the perpetrator.
