Origin and Prehistoric Presence
Haplogroup I-P37.2 has been identified in neolithic human remains in Europe. Two samples of ancient Y-DNA from Treilles, the type-site of a Late Neolithic group of farmers in the South of France, dated to about 3000 BC tested positive for M438 and P37.2. The culture predates the Bell Beaker and Corded Ware Culture in Europe. The remains were found in association with others testing positive for Haplogroup G2a (p15+). A study of earlier Neolithic human remains at Derenburg Meerenstieg II in Germany linked to the Linear Band Culture dated to 5500-4900 BC found two remains that tested positive for Haplogroup F, but negative for haplogroup G,H,I,J or K (positive for M89 but negative for markers M201,M69, M170, M304, and M9). These remains were found in association with remains testing positive for G2a3 (SNP S126 or L30).

Famous quotes containing the words origin and, origin, prehistoric and/or presence:
“We have got rid of the fetish of the divine right of kings, and that slavery is of divine origin and authority. But the divine right of property has taken its place. The tendency plainly is towards ... a government of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
“High treason, when it is resistance to tyranny here below, has its origin in, and is first committed by, the power that makes and forever re-creates man.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Of course
the New Testament is very small.
Its mouth opens four times
as out-of-date as a prehistoric monster,
yet somehow man-made....”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“We are ashamed to seem evasive in the presence of a straightforward man, cowardly in the presence of a brave one, gross in the eyes of a refined one, and so on. We always imagine, and in imagining share, the judgments of the other mind.”
—Charles Horton Cooley (18641929)
