Half Moon

Half Moon is a lunar phase coinciding with neap tides, which are often easier for seafarers than spring tides. This would apply to the first quarter and last (third) quarter moon; in both cases, half of the moon's disk is lit. A crescent is a geometrical and symbolic moon shape.

Famous quotes containing the word moon:

    Crazed through much child-bearing
    The moon is staggering in the sky;
    Moon-struck by the despairing
    Glances of her wandering eye
    We grope, and grope in vain,
    For children born of her pain.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
