A number of former Haberdashers' students have entered the acting profession, of whom Sacha Baron Cohen, Matt Lucas and Jason Isaacs are particularly prominent. Haberdashers' has produced a number of statesmen and others in the political sphere, with the current Minister of State for Europe, David Lidington, also being a former pupil of the school. The historian Simon Schama, a frequent contributor to television and radio programmes, and Brian Sewell, 'Britain's most famous and controversial art critic', are also Old Boys of the school.

Famous quotes containing the words notable and/or students:
“Every notable advance in technique or organization has to be paid for, and in most cases the debit is more or less equivalent to the credit. Except of course when its more than equivalent, as it has been with universal education, for example, or wireless, or these damned aeroplanes. In which case, of course, your progress is a step backwards and downwards.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
“If we became students of Malcolm X, we would not have young black men out there killing each other like theyre killing each other now. Young black men would not be impregnating young black women at the rate going on now. Wed not have the drugs we have now, or the alcoholism.”
—Spike Lee (b. 1956)
