Protest in Myagdi
Soon after the 10 day personal visit news came out, ten political parties of Parbat district organized a corner assembly at Shibalaya Chowk of Kusmabazaar decided to protest King's visit. Leaders speaking at the corner assembly called on Kingto stop his visit and also warned of obstructing his tour if he started his tour forcibly. Nevetheless, King left to Pokhara. There was no protest on the first day. He walked in more than a kilometer in the rain with general public. However, the scheduled visit of to Myagdi was cancelled following opposition from different political parties. He had planned to perform worships at various holy shrines in the district. This action of political parties and Maoist government has gained worldwide criticism from democratic corners.
