Famous quotes containing the words rough draft, rough and/or draft:
“This luxury of the precocious child,
Time’s precious chronic invalid,—
would we, darlings, resign it if we could?
Our blight has been our sinecure:
mere talent was enough for us—
glitter in fragments and rough drafts.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
“If a being suffers there can be no moral justification for refusing to take that suffering into consideration. No matter what the nature of the being, the principle of equality requires that its suffering be counted equally with the like suffering—insofar as rough comparisons can be made—of any other being.”
—Peter Singer (b. 1946)
“News is the first rough draft of history.”
—Philip L. Graham (1915–1963)
