Famous quotes containing the words points of, points and/or interest:
“If I were in the unenviable position of having to study my work my points of departure would be the Naught is more real ... and the Ubi nihil vales ... both already in Murphy and neither very rational.”
—Samuel Beckett (19061989)
“Wonderful Force of Public Opinion! We must act and walk in all points as it prescribes; follow the traffic it bids us, realise the sum of money, the degree of influence it expects of us, or we shall be lightly esteemed; certain mouthfuls of articulate wind will be blown at us, and this what mortal courage can front?”
—Thomas Carlyle (17951881)
“Governments which have a regard to the common interest are constituted in accordance with strict principles of justice, and are therefore true forms; but those which regard only the interest of the rulers are all defective and perverted forms, for they are despotic, whereas a state is a community of freemen.”
—Aristotle (384322 B.C.)
