Grazhdanskaya Oborona (Russian: Гражданская Оборона), or GrOb was one of the earliest Russian punk bands. It influenced many later Soviet and then Russian bands. The name of the band means "Civil Defence" in Russian. From the early 1990s their music began to evelove in the direction of psychedelic and garage rock, and their lyrics became more poetic.
