As Google Shopping
Although Google Product Search was renamed Google Shopping on May 31, 2012, the transition from the free service to the monetized service is expected to take place in the fall of 2012. Search results will be based upon both relevance and the bid price that merchants pay Google. It is the first time that Google will entirely replace a product that had previously listed companies and merchants for free. Because of this change, some small businesses are concerned that they will not be able to compete with larger companies that can afford a larger advertising budget. Google plans to integrate Google Catalogs with Google Shopping.

Famous quotes containing the word shopping:
“The most important fact about our shopping malls, as distinct from the ordinary shopping centers where we go for our groceries, is that we do not need most of what they sell, not even for our pleasure or entertainment, not really even for a sensation of luxury. Little in them is essential to our survival, our work, or our play, and the same is true of the boutiques that multiply on our streets.”
—Henry Fairlie (19241990)
