Gibraltar Social Democrats - Policy

Policy

The party sits on the centre-left of the political spectrum, having improved the healthcare system and built much affordable housing (most recently Waterport Terraces and Mid-harbour Estate) during their time in office.

The party supports the current constitutional status of Gibraltar as an autonomous British overseas territory and is opposed to any proposal of joint British–Spanish sovereignty. It has traditionally been less hostile in its attitude to Spain than the Gibraltar Socialist Labour Party.

Famous quotes containing the word policy:

The Oregon [matter] and the annexation of Texas are now all- important to the security and future peace and prosperity of our union, and I hope there are a sufficient number of pure American democrats to carry into effect the annexation of Texas and [extension of] our laws over Oregon. No temporizing policy or all is lost.
    Andrew Jackson (1767–1845)

The politician being interviewed clearly takes a great deal of trouble to imagine an ending to his sentence: and if he stopped short? His entire policy would be jeopardized!
    Roland Barthes (1915–1980)

Our policy is directed not against any country or doctrine, but against hunger, poverty, desperation and chaos. Its purpose should be the revival of a working economy in the world so as to permit the emergence of political and social conditions in which free institutions can exist.
    George Marshall (1880–1959)
