Physiographic Regions

India can be divided into five physiographic regions. They are

  1. The northern mountains
  2. Northern Plains
  3. The Peninsular Plateau
  4. Coastal Plains
  5. Islands

Another method divides India into five physiographic regions: The Himalayas, northern plains (the Indo-Gangetic plain), peninsular region, coastal plains, and islands.
