Although Nintendo currently has no plans to release Game Boy Advance games for the Virtual Console, specifically on the Nintendo 3DS for unknown reasons, when Nintendo announced that the Nintendo 3DS would receive a price-drop worldwide only six months after its initial release in Japan, they added those who had already purchased the device and entered the Ambassador's program would be eligible to receive twenty free games, ten of which are specific Game Boy Advance game titles. These titles were distributed to eligible Nintendo 3DS owners on December 16, 2011.
