One of the songwriters and backing vocalist for the "Shine" album was Kirsty MacColl, who was killed in a boating accident in Mexico in December 2000. Lyngstad dedicated a song on her most recent compilation album to MacColl, "Chemistry Tonight", which MacColl had co-written.
