Freiburg is home to football team SC Freiburg, which plays at the Mage-Solar-Stadion. In the 2012–2013 season, the team will compete in the Fußball-Bundesliga. Freiburger FC is a football club that had early success in the 20th century, but now competes in lower divisions.
Freiburg also has the EHC Freiburg Ice hockey team, which plays at the Franz-Siegel Halle, and the RC Freiburg Rugby union team, which competes in the Regionalliga Baden Wurttemberg.
