It continues to be produced today and enjoys some degree of popularity, especially in the urban communities where Hispanics and Italian Americans are found.
Notable performers in the freestyle genre include Stevie B, Timmy T, George Lamond, TKA, Noel, Company B, Exposé, The Cover Girls, Information Society, Sa-Fire, Johnny O, Cynthia, Coro, Lisette Melendez, Judy Torres, Rockell and many others. The music can be heard on some radio stations such as WKTU in New York City or on AOL Radio by clicking on '80s Dance channel under "Dance/Electronic" genre.

Famous quotes containing the word music:
“I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man: wine is not so noble a liquor; and think of dashing the hopes of a morning with a cup of warm coffee, or of an evening with a dish of tea! Ah, how low I fall when I am tempted by them! Even music may be intoxicating. Such apparently slight causes destroyed Greece and Rome, and will destroy England and America.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
