Frasier Crane
Frasier W. Crane, M.D., Ph.D., A.P.A., is a fictional character on the American television sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, portrayed by Kelsey Grammer for 20 years. Grammer received Emmy Award nominations for portraying Crane on three different NBC shows, including a 1992 guest appearance on Wings. Initially, he was created in 1984 as one of romantic triangles of the "Sam and Diane" story arc. However, Grammer's performance was praised by producers. Since then, he appeared on 203 episodes of Cheers and all 264 episodes on his spin-off show Frasier. In later seasons of Cheers, his background has been further explored, and then he was married to Lilith Sternin (Bebe Neuwirth) with their son Frederick in Boston.
After Cheers ended, he and Lilith divorced, so Frasier moved back to his birthplace, Seattle, while Frederick remained under custody of Lilith in Boston. Several of his relatives lived in Seattle, including his father Martin and brother Niles, who were both created for the spin-off Frasier. In his final episode, Frasier is last seen in the airplane that is heading to Chicago.
