Frank Skinner - Personal Life

Personal Life

Skinner is a supporter of the Labour Party, and is a practising Roman Catholic, a fan of bands including post punk group The Fall and a lifelong supporter of West Bromwich Albion Football Club; despite living in London he still regularly attends matches.

He is a former pupil of Moat Farm Infant School, St Hubert's Roman Catholic Junior School, and Oldbury Technical School (all in Oldbury). He is also a graduate of Birmingham Polytechnic (now Birmingham City University).

Skinner was a victim of the credit crunch in the late 2000s after investing in AIG, losing millions of pounds as a result.

In September 2009 Skinner was awarded his second honorary degree, from the University of Wolverhampton.

Skinner stated in 2010 that he had not drunk alcohol since 1986.

During his radio show on 28 January 2012, Skinner announced that he was to become a father for the first time with his long term girlfriend Cath Mason. His son Buzz Cody Collins was born in May 2012, after a rather frenetic labour.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:

... feminism is a political term and it must be recognized as such: it is political in women’s terms. What are these terms? Essentially it means making connections: between personal power and economic power, between domestic oppression and labor exploitation, between plants and chemicals, feelings and theories; it means making connections between our inside worlds and the outside world.
Anica Vesel Mander, U.S. author and feminist, and Anne Kent Rush (b. 1945)

The consciousness in each man is a sliding scale, which identifies him now with the First Cause, and now with the flesh of his body; life above life, in infinite degrees.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
