Forfar i/ˈfɔrfər/ (Scots: Farfar, Scottish Gaelic: Baile Fharfair) is a parish, town and former royal burgh of about 13,500 people in Angus, Scotland. Forfar is the county town of Angus, which was officially known as Forfarshire from the 18th century until 1929, when the ancient name was reinstated, and today serves as the administrative centre for Angus Council.
