Florida Air Academy - Cadet Life

Cadet Life

Boarding students live with 3 other roommates. Each room has twin beds, desks, swivel chairs and wall lockers. Students are allowed to have a footlocker for additional storage. Students may use the school's linens or provide their own.

Boarding students arise at 7:15 a.m. They have breakfast at the dining hall until 7:50. All dormitories are inspected in the morning to ensure cleanliness. Students may meet with their teachers from 8:30 to 8:55 for any individual help they may need. All students must be on campus by 8:55 to attend class at 9 a.m.

The school day is made up of six class periods, with a five minute passing period between each class. The last class ends at 2:45 p.m. Boarding students are given the option of going home for the weekend, and can take bus shuttles to various parts of Florida, or stay on campus. If the student stays on campus, a variety of activities are planned for the students. Activities include trips to area theme parks, visits to the local beach, ice skating, bowling, and daily trips to the mall.

Famous quotes containing the word life:

Sunday morning may be cheery enough, with its extra cup of coffee and litter of Sunday newspapers, but there is always hanging over it the ominous threat of 3 P.M., when the sun gets around to the back windows and life stops dead in its tracks.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)
