The American rock group Guns N' Roses released a cover of the hymn. The cover was generally not well received and was largely unpopular among Finnish listeners.
The symphonic metal band Nightwish also provided a cover as part of the Dark Passion Play tour, featuring Troy Donockley on the uilleann pipes.
