Ficus sycomorus, called the sycamore fig or the fig-mulberry (because the leaves resemble those of the Mulberry), sycamore, or sycomore, is a fig species that has been cultivated since ancient times. (Sycamore has been used for a variety of plants, and in England is widely used to refer to the Great Maple, Acer pseudoplatanus; in the interests of clarity this variety of fig tree should be exclusively referred to as Sycomore.)
