Recent Upgrades
As of December 2009, the State Government has announced the remaining 3.2 km single track section between Keperra and Ferny Grove will be duplicated. Ferny Grove station will also be upgraded, including increasing car parking to around 1000 spaces and constructing a new bus interchange. It is proposed the Ferny Grove Tavern land be acquired to provide additional car parking as there are no other feasible design options to provide this additional car parking. Construction is expected to start in mid-2010 and be completed in 2012. The new platforms will open on Tuesday 10 April 2012.
Work was recently completed to duplicate the track between Mitchelton and Keperra, and also to upgrade the intervening stations, Oxford Park and Grovely, to two platforms. This upgrade allows additional services to operate on the line during peak hour, and removes waiting times outbound from Mitchelton and inbound from Keperra.
