Post-Rebellions of 1837-38
The Rebellions of 1837 lead by William Lyon Mackenzie were unsuccessful. The Family Compact and the government of the day put down the rebellions, although that would be a hollow victory. The Family Compact as a social and political federation would fail to modify its extreme stance on the issues of the day, ultimately leading to its down-fall.
