Death
Ezzard Charles, age 53, died on May 28, 1975 in Chicago from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, and was interred in the historic Burr Oak Cemetery, in Alsip, Illinois.
