Ezri Dax - Casting

Casting

The role of Ezri Dax was created when Terry Farrell (who played Jadzia Dax) decided to leave the show and her character was subsequently killed by Dukat.

When Nicole de Boer read for the role in 1998, she was considered "one of the busiest actresses in Canada but a relative unknown south of the border". She used her own camera to tape her audition. De Boer admits that prior to being called to the show she did not know what a Trill was. But she made sure to study, and watched previous shows, though careful not "to watch a whole bunch of Jadzia stuff."

Famous quotes containing the word casting:

For the gods, though slow to see, see well, whenever a man casting aside worship turns folly.
    Sophocles (497–406/5 B.C.)

This I do know and can say to you: Our country is in more danger now than at any time since the Declaration of Independence. We don’t dare follow the Lindberghs, Wheelers and Nyes, casting suspicion, sowing discord around the leadership of Franklin D. Roosevelt. We don’t want revolution among ourselves.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

    All we know
Is that we are a little early, that
    Today has that special, lapidary
    Todayness that the sunlight reproduces
Faithfully in casting twig-shadows on blithe
Sidewalks. No previous day would have been like this.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
