Plot
In the episode, Tarquin, played by Maury Sterling, a humanoid male, who lives alone on a planet, communicates telepathically with Ensign Hoshi Sato. He promises to provide information relevant to Enterprise's current mission relating to the Xindi, but Enterprise would have to come to him.
Captain Archer decides to do so, and when they arrive, Tarquin demands that Ensign Sato stay with him while he examines the Xindi device found on Earth. Enterprise leaves, to return later after examining another sphere.
During her visit, Sato learns that she wasn't the first person to visit Tarquin in this manner; in fact, others have spent the remainders of their lives with him, and it is discovered that Tarquin wishes the same of her. She denies him his wish, and when the Enterprise returns she leaves, to Tarquin's disappointment. Enterprise still gets the information, though; Tarquin communicates it to Sato even after she has left.

Our bodies are weak and worn;
We plot and corrupt each other,
And we despoil the unborn.”
