Origins
The Origin of the Ewe is similar to those who speak Gbe languages. It would seem these speakers have always occupied the area between Yoruba and Akan lands. Previously some historians have tried to tie them to both groups but, more recent studies suggest these are distinct ethnic groups that are neither Yoruba or Akan, but influenced by both.
