Euthyphro Dilemma - in Popular Culture

In the song "No Church in the Wild" from the album Watch the Throne, rapper Jay-Z references the dilemma with the line, "Is pious pious 'cause God loves pious? Socrates asked whose bias do y'all seek." The song deals with hedonistic and materialistic themes which are rejected by traditional Judaeo-Christian doctrines. Consequently, the reference to Euthyphro can be seen as a musing on the validity of material aspirations and a hedonistic lifestyle.
