Indications
It can be used to treat a number of medical conditions that result in narrowing of the esophageal lumen, or decrease motility in the distal esophagus. These include the following:
- Peptic stricture
- Schatzki rings
- Achalasia
- Scleroderma esophagus
- Rarely esophageal cancer
